PCC Receives Highest Honor for Annual Financial Report

May 21, 2010

Tucson, AZ – Pima Community College has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and was awarded to PCC for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for Fiscal Year 2009.

The Government Finance Officers Association also recognized the District’s Finance Office for its central role in preparing the award-winning CAFR.

A panel judged that the College’s CAFR demonstrated a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” that clearly communicated the District’s financial situation and motivated others to read the CAFR.

Based in Chicago and Washington, D.C., the Government Finance Officers Association is a not-for-profit professional association serving about 17,500 finance professionals.
