PCC, Reid Park Zoo Sponsor Stand for Children Event

April 23, 2010

Pima Community College and Reid Park Zoo are sponsoring Stand for Children Day on April 24.

The event is 9 a.m.-noon and features free admission to the zoo, 1030 South Randolph Way. There, families can enjoy arts and crafts projects, face painting, clowns and dozens of fun activities.

More than 6,000 adults and children are expected at the annual event, one of many celebrations around the country connected to nonprofit Stand for Children. Stand for Children’s mission is to use the power of grassroots action to help all children get the excellent public education and strong support they need to thrive.

The Tucson event has more than 30 community partners who will provide activities and information at their booths. Community Partners include Bear Essential News for Kids, Make Way for Books and Southern Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children.

An adult must accompany each child younger than 15.
