This position will work with the campus dean, coordinating the implementation of the new Clinical Research Trial Coordination program as an instructor with expertise in clinical trial coordination

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching courses in Clinical Research Trial Coordination to a diverse student population
  • Overseeing operation of program
  • Recruiting and mentoring adjunct faculty and building an instructional team
  • Screening students, including providing orientation and academic advising for them regarding the program and career opportunities including internship placement
  • Evaluating and revising of the program and individual  course descriptions, objectives and outlines
  • Reviewing and adjusting, as needed, course materials and instructional methods including continuing education and workshops
  • Conducting student conferences regarding clinical research skills and practices, and learning strategies
  • Maintaining professional certifications
  • Serving as a department member and on college committees
  • Providing additional services as assigned. 
  • Marketing the program in the community and building community relations
  • Developing career information for the program
  • Working with the local research community to determine needs for additional clinical research related training opportunities
  • Informing student advisors and counselors about program changes, related to program expansion and required courses of study.

Minimum Qualifications:  Associates degree or equivalent credit in the field and five years of experience OR License or recognized certification in the field and five years of experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and three years of experience OR a masters degree in the field OR masters degree with 18 graduate credits in the field.  Preferred experience in the following areas: clinical trial site coordination/management, data management, regulatory or clinical monitoring, and drug/medical device/alternative medicine discovery and development. CCRC certification is recommended.  Teaching/training experience is desirable.  The applicant must have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated decision-making ability, and excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse populations. OTHER INFORMATION: A flexible schedule (including evenings) is required for this position in order to meet customer needs. Faculty members may be asked to use a wide range of delivery systems, such as lecture, lecture/lab, self-paced, independent or individualized instruction, Internet, flex, open-entry/open-exit, and other alternatives.

Administrative Appointment This is a full-time faculty position in a new program.  It is an administrative appointment for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 academic years.  During the academic year of 2009-10, the feasibility of continuing the program will be decided and if feasible, recruitment of a regular faculty for the program will begin.  The administrative appointment will be encouraged to apply.
