Veterans Education Benefits

Pima recognizes the sacrifice of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. As a veteran, survivor or dependent, you may be eligible for educational benefits to further your goals.

All College programs are approved for enrollment of veterans, survivors and dependents under Title 38 USC and selected reservists under Title 10 USC.

Starting Benefits

Due to repeat audit discrepancies, PCC is unable to certify education benefits for new students for 60 days.  If you have never used Veteran Education Benefits at PCC, your certification request cannot be processed at this time.  Your education benefit eligibility is important to us, and we are working diligently to correct the discrepancies so that we can continue to certify Veteran Benefit Recipients enrollment.  For more information about this and/or eligibility, email

Continuing Benefits

We can help continuing and returning students with veterans education benefits.  Get details on how to continue your veterans benefits.

Deferment of Payments

Deferment of payment for tuition, fees and required books and materials is available to anyone who is eligible for, and has applied for, benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill Chapters 30, 31, 33, 35, 1606, 1607 and the Veteran's Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP).

Deferment considerations:

  • payments are deferred with no interest until the end of the deferral period
  • deferment is available during any registration period in which a veteran is awaiting Montgomery GI Bill or VRAP benefits
  • electronic book loan funds are available at any campus bookstore

For information on eligibility requirements visit the Student Service Center at any campus or the PCC office at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. See maps for locations.

Veterans Affairs Compliance Survey

On March 11, Pima received a letter from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs with findings from a VA compliance survey conducted at PCC in January 2014.  [View: PDF | scanned image].  On March 19, a letter from the Arizona Dept. of Veterans Services directed Pima not to certify new veterans education benefit recipients in PCC programs for a period of 60 days.  This action does not affect veterans currently enrolled in approved programs.
