Adelante Program

Adelante is an exciting program designed to support Latino male students as they pursue their academic goals at PCC. The Adelante program offers you the opportunity to move forward by providing you with incentives and specialized services to accomplish your ultimate goal of earning a degree or certificate.

Student Benefits

The Adelante program provides you with

  • up to $3,000 over two semesters for full-time enrollment or up to $1,400 over two semesters for part-time enrollment.
  • one-on-one advising with an Adelante advisor.
  • access to services available only through the Adelante program.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must

  • be a Latino male.
  • have completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of less than 4,995.
  • have accumulated no more than 45 PCC credits prior to beginning the program.
  • be enrolled in at least six credits for the upcoming semester.

To earn the full award, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Attend at least two advising sessions each semester.
  • Complete tutoring, community service and Platicas discussion forums each semester, as recommended by your advisor.
  • If attending part time you must complete at least six credits, with a grade of C or better in each course.
  • If attending full time you must complete at least 12 credits, with a grade of C or better in each course.

Selection Process

Due to the limited number of available awards, we cannot guarantee your enrollment in the Adelante program. Eligible students who have attended an Adelante information session are selected by lottery to participate in the program.

Adelante awards are performance based. You must meet academic and service participation milestones to qualify.
