eBooks
Over 50,000 ebooks [electronic books] are available to Pima students, faculty and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are identical to the print version of the same book. To access any ebook from off campus, you need to enter your name and barcode from your barcoded student ID card or from your faculty/staff library card.
- Search for ebooks by topic using the library catalog. Then limit or modify your results to e-books.
- Search by subject “electronic books” to get a list of all our ebooks. Once you have the list, you can sort it by author, title, call number or year of publication. You can also “limit results” by words in the author, title or subject fields.
Pima College uses several ebook sources:
- Gale Virtual Reference Library: Accessed via the catalog or on the Reference Resources page under General Sources.
- EBL: Ebook Library: Accessed via the catalog. To view an EBL ebook you must first create a user account. We recommend you set up the user account from on campus. Accounts set up from off campus will be activated by the next business day.
- netLibrary: Accessed via the catalog or directly through netLibrary. Create a netLibrary ebook account to set up a user account that will allow you to checkout books for 24 hours. There are special instructions for Mac users wishing to view netLibrary titles.
- Oxford Reference Online: Accessed via the catalog or on the Reference Resources page under General Sources.
- CQ Researcher Reports: Extensive reports on issues of current interest accessed via the catalog or on the Reference Resources page under Hot Topics and Current Issues. (Note: When accessing CQ Researcher reports via the catalog, make sure to allow “pop-up” windows.)
- Safari Tech Books Online: Accessed via the catalog or on the Reference Resources page under Science and Technology.
- Greenwood: Accessed via the catalog.
