PCC Women’s Soccer Season Ends at Scottsdale CC
Tucson, AZ – The women’s soccer team (12-7-1) struck first but fell behind in the first half and couldn’t come back after falling 4-2 to Scottsdale Community College in the NJCAA Region I, Division I semifinals on Wednesday in Scottsdale.
The No. 3 seeded Aztecs scored early when Kathy Fisher (Sahuaro HS) scored in the 6th minute with an assist by Ivonne Herrera (Nogales HS). Scottsdale came back and tied the game right away also in the 6th minute. Pima gave up three more goals to Scottsdale, the No. 2 seed, in the first half and trailed 4-1 at halftime.
The Aztecs held Scottsdale scoreless in the second half. Kalle Smith (Sahuarita HS) scored Pima’s second goal of the game in the 89th off a rebound at the net.
Pima finished with 15 shots at the goal and Erika Heredia (Sabino HS), finished with nine saves.
