College Readiness is a student success program designed to introduce you to PCC resources, help you map out your education plan, set goals for yourself and improve your reading, writing and math skills.
If you assess into Reading 071, Writing 070, Math 082 or Math 089, take advantage of the additional academic support and tutoring services available through the College Readiness program. Staff and instructors are available to support your learning and help you every step of the way.
We want you to have a successful college experience and the College Readiness program can help you to determine your options for building your academic skills.
You may choose to:
- Prepare to retake the basic skills assessment(s). A little preparation may be all you need. Sample test questions are available online. If English is not your first language, ask a Student Services Center staff member at any campus about the CELSA test.
- Enroll in Reading 071, Writing 070, Math 082 or Math 089. These credit courses are taught by faculty in a classroom setting. The instruction is delivered using a variety of learning materials and methods. Supplemental tutoring support services also are available. Math 089 is taught by faculty in a Web-based classroom with the aid of tutors and online support tools to help you learn the materials.
- Enroll in skills building modules. These modules allow students to learn at their own pace in Reading, Writing or Math. The learning options are flexible and instructors are available to help you. There is no cost to enroll and tutoring is available.
To discuss your options, register to attend a Get Started session. A Student Services Center staff member at any campus can help you register, or go to the Get Started Calendar to find out when sessions are scheduled and how to sign-up.
Visit any campus Student Services Center, call 206-6462 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We're happy to answer your questions and help you get started building your future.
