Post-Certification Activities

After adjunct faculty applicants have been certified and approved by the Board of Governors for teaching assignments, their name is placed in the college-wide applicant database. 

This database is used by Department Chairs and campus administrators  when making adjunct faculty teaching assignments.

Current openings for adjunct faculty positions may be listed online in Pima Jobs - Instruction.  Adjunct assignments are often filled directly from the pool of applications that have already been certified and approved by the Board of Governors.

Once an applicant has received their teaching certificate in the mail, they may contact department chairs or appropriate administrators at the campus(es) of their choice to discuss possible assignments. 

Recommendations for teaching assignments are based on the information in the application plus any follow-up information acquired by department chairs from correspondence, phone calls and/or personal interviews.

If an offer is made to teach a course, new employee paperwork must be completed in the Office of Faculty Certification.
